Our Story

Hi! We’re Adina + Mauricio.

As an immigration lawyer/Accredited Financial Counselor® and proud immigrant wife-and-husband team, we have more than 22+ combined years of professional, personal, and practical experience to guide you in safely navigating the immigration, financial, real estate, tax, and business systems so you can confidently create a more secure future for yourself and your family…and build generational wealth.

We created Immigrant Finance® to have a home for immigrants and their families learning about financial empowerment with community support. 

Basically, what we wish we had when we began our financial journey.

Let's Get Started

…When Mau immigrated to the U.S. in 2013, we didn’t know whether he could open a bank account or credit card, invest, prepare for retirement, buy a home, start a business, etc. None of the traditional personal finance books, blogs, or podcasts spoke about personal finances for immigrants. We felt so alone.

We also found that the very few financial spaces that did understand the needs of immigrants with finances did not have any expertise in immigration law. We realized they could not knowledgeably guide us or other people with uncertain or lack of immigration status through the financial and business systems.

When we went through this experience ourselves, we had to figure it all out on our own. Even with Adina as an immigration lawyer, it took us over 7 years of anxiety, overwhelm, and stress to figure out how to navigate the financial and business systems as a mixed immigrant family.  

By sharing what we have researched, learned through 10 years of trial & error, and mastered along the way navigating the intersection of the U.S. immigration law and financial systems, we hope we can help you and your family feel supported and empowered in your financial journeys.
